Terms of Service
Last updated: September 27, 2026
The short version
- The free version is free. Pro is a one-time payment of $9, not a subscription.
- One Pro key is for one person, in up to 5 browsers at a time.
- Not happy? Email us within 14 days for a full refund. No questions asked.
- Only download files you're allowed to download. You're responsible for how you use the extension.
Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Nathanael Schnell, an individual based in South Carolina, USA, who makes and sells Bulk File Downloader ("we", "us"). They cover the Bulk File Downloader Chrome extension, this website, and Pro licenses. By installing the extension or buying Pro, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the extension.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
The free version
You may use the free version of the extension at no cost, for personal or work use. It downloads up to 50 files per batch; you can run as many batches as you like. We may change what the free version includes.
Pro license
Buying Pro gets you a license key. With it, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Pro features:
- One person. A key is for you (or one person you bought it for). Don't share or publish it, and don't resell it.
- Up to 5 browsers at a time. To move the key, remove it from an old browser in the extension (License → Remove from this browser). A browser that hasn't checked in for 30 days frees its slot automatically.
- Turbo, if you buy it, is added to the same key and follows the same rules.
What "lifetime" means
Pro is a one-time purchase: you won't be charged again for the Pro features, and your key has no expiry date. "Lifetime" refers to the life of the product. We intend to keep Bulk File Downloader and its license service running, but we can't promise to offer them forever.
License checks
The extension checks your key with our license server about once a week. If it can't reach the server, Pro keeps working for 14 days before asking to check again. A key that is refunded, charged back, or used against these terms stops unlocking Pro.
Buying, prices, taxes
Pro is sold through Link, Stripe's merchant-of-record service. Link is the seller of record for your purchase: it takes your payment, and its terms apply to the payment itself. We provide the license and the software.
Prices are shown in US dollars before tax: Pro $9, the Turbo add-on $2.99. Sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout based on your location. You'll see your license key right after paying. If anything goes wrong, email us and we'll sort it out.
Refunds
If Pro doesn't work for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of buying for a full refund. No questions asked. Refunds go back to your original payment method. Stripe may also give you a refund directly.
When a purchase is refunded or disputed (a chargeback), the key, or the part of it that purchase paid for (such as Turbo), stops working. If you live in the EU or UK, this 14-day refund applies in addition to any rights you have under consumer law.
Acceptable use
Bulk File Downloader downloads files your browser can already open. It is a tool, and you are responsible for what you download with it. You agree to:
- Only download files you have the right to access and download, and respect copyright and other rights in them.
- Follow the terms of the websites you use it on, and the law where you are.
- Not use it to get around logins, paywalls, DRM, or other access controls.
- Not use it to overload or disrupt a website. The page-scanning (crawl) feature limits itself and follows robots.txt, but you are responsible for pointing it at sites that allow it.
- Not share, publish, or sell license keys, or try to get around the license system, the browser limit, or the free version's limits.
- Not reverse engineer our license server, or attack or overload it.
If a key is used against these terms (for example, posted publicly), we may turn it off. If we turn off a key for any other reason, we'll refund the purchase.
Other websites
The files you download come from other websites, not from us. We don't host, check, or control them, and we aren't responsible for them or for those websites' content, availability, or terms. Websites can change in ways that stop the extension from finding their files.
Updates and changes
The extension updates automatically through the Chrome Web Store. We may add, change, or remove features, including to keep up with changes to Chrome or to websites. We try to keep the Pro features you paid for working, but we can't guarantee any feature forever. If a change breaks something you rely on, tell us.
Ownership
We own the extension, this website, and the Bulk File Downloader name and logo. These terms give you the right to use them as described here, not ownership. The extension includes open-source software under its own license (fflate, MIT license).
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
No warranty
We work hard to make the extension reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't promise that it will find every file on every page, that every download will succeed, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the extension, this website, or a license. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $10 if you haven't paid us anything.
Some places don't allow these limits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
Ending this agreement
You can stop using the extension at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your license if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. The sections on acceptable use, ownership, no warranty, limitation of liability, and governing law continue to apply after that.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that we can't resolve by talking it through goes to the state or federal courts located in South Carolina. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another country whose laws protect you regardless of this choice, you keep those protections and can bring a claim where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll say what changed on this page. Changes apply from the date they're posted. They don't change the terms of a purchase you already made, including your refund window.
